I briefly mentioned him in my last entry, regarding my visit to Dia:Beacon.
He was a prolific American artist who rose to fame in the 1960's.
His works were simply line drawings, that were not so simple.
I think the reason I so greatly admire his work, is because I can't figure out what draws me to it. The complexity of it seems so ordinary. And the ordinariness of it seems so complex.
Who knew, so much beauty could be unleashed through a collection of lines?
Lewitt knew.
